Breaking News: The invasion of Earth has begun.

A massive alien spacecraft appeared just outside Washington, D.C. Within minutes, all U.S. military forces were placed on high alert. Fighter jets circled overhead. Cable news anchors abandoned all pretense of restraint. Social media erupted.

President Trump immediately assembled his Cabinet in the newly constructed White House bunker.

As the nation watched, the spacecraft opened and a humanoid figure emerged. Standing before cameras from around the world, the visitor spoke in flawless English:

“Take me to your leader.”

Inside the bunker, a brief debate ensued. The President quickly resolved the matter.

“Jared will handle it,” Trump announced. “He’s very good at negotiations. Very good. There could be tremendous business opportunities.”

Jared Kushner departed immediately to establish first contact.

Upon arriving at the landing site, Kushner informed the visitor that he represented the leader of the free world. The alien nodded politely and accepted an invitation to the White House.

The next morning, the alien was escorted into the Oval Office.

Trump studied the visitor carefully.

“There is something I’ve been meaning to ask,” he said. “Why do you look like Obama?”

The alien consulted a small device.

“Our scientists searched your planet for the most intelligent human specimen. This appearance was selected based on the data.”

Trump frowned.

Pete Hegseth stared at the floor.

Marco Rubio suddenly found the curtains fascinating.

But Trump recovered quickly.

“Okay. Fine. What do you want?”

The alien’s expression became serious.

“We have come to issue a warning.”

The room fell silent.

“Your sun is entering a period of enhanced ultraviolet radiation. Within decades, exposure levels will become fatal. Unless action is taken, much of humanity will perish.”

Even Trump looked alarmed.

“That sounds bad,” he admitted.

“Fortunately,” the alien continued, “our civilization solved this problem thousands of years ago. We have developed a vaccine that increases melanin production and protects biological organisms from the radiation.”

Trump blinked.

“You mean…”

“Yes.”

“We all become Black?”

“Essentially.”

The room was silent.

The alien smiled reassuringly.

“It is quite effective.”

Hegseth appeared to be calculating if he could revise his diversity directives.

Rubio looked as though he had been deported to Cuba.

Finally, Trump spoke.

“There has to be another option.”

“There is not.”

“What about A space shield”

“No.”

“A wall around the sun?”

“No.”

The alien paused.

“You may accept the vaccine or accept extinction.”

At that moment, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who had been unusually quiet, stood up.

“I have concerns.”

The entire room turned toward him.

“What kind of concerns?” asked Trump.

“I haven’t seen the long-term studies.”

The alien stared.

“The alternative is the extinction of your species.”

“Nevertheless,” Kennedy replied, “people should do their own research about vaccines.”

The alien consulted his device again.

“We have encountered this phenomenon before.”

“What phenomenon?” asked Rubio.

“Civilizations capable of reaching extraordinary levels of technology while simultaneously refusing to believe their own scientists.”

After several weeks of public debate, congressional hearings, televised town halls, lawsuits, podcasts, emergency summits, and three hundred million social media arguments, the vaccine was approved.

Humanity chose survival.

The transformation occurred gradually.

Within a decade, the world’s population possessed dramatically increased melanin levels. Former racial categories became increasingly meaningless. Census forms became confusing. White nationalist organizations struggled to recruit members who no longer met their own membership requirements.

The political consequences were profound.

Facing mounting pressure from supporters concerned about the disappearance of traditional racial classifications, President Trump issued Executive Order 1619.

The order established White History Month.

At the signing ceremony, Trump explained:

“We want to honor a tremendous people. A beautiful people. Nobody appreciates the disappearance of white supremacy more than I do.”

The month featured historical exhibits, educational programming, and commemorative postage stamps.

Attendance was modest.

Most Americans were too busy adapting to a world in which skin color no longer determined social mobility and identity.

Years later, historians would describe the alien intervention as one of the great turning points in human history.

Not because it saved humanity from ultraviolet radiation.

Not because it united the nations of the Earth.

Not because it introduced humanity to an advanced extraterrestrial civilization.

It was remembered because it forced humanity to confront one uncomfortable truth: one of its oldest and most destructive divisions had never made much sense to begin with.

The aliens had arrived expecting to save a species.

Instead, they accidentally cured one of humanity’s oldest obsessions.

Skin color.
